Poedit is one of the most popular programs to edit languages files.
- .xlf: XML formatted file. It is based on .xliff
- .xliff: XML Localisation Interchange File Format)
- .po: Portable Object
- .pot: Portable Object Template
The free version has plenty of options which will be sufficient for most users.
The paid version includes pre-translation (machine translation) and WordPress translation capabilities.
